Washington battled New England for a second straight year in the Whitney Cup Final on Sunday. Haven Pell and Robin Martin got the team off to a promising start with a dramatic 6-5 third set victory over the talented N.E. team of Jonathan Pardee and Alex Walsh. Washington defeated Philadelphia today 4 matches to 1 and earned a spot in Sunday’s Final.
It came down to the final match of the day to determine who our opponent would be. New England had to win their Senior’s match against New York in straight sets to advance and they did 6-5, 6-3! So it is deja vu all over again and a rematch of last year’s final.
