Steve Hufford fought off three match points and a spirited effort by “underdog-on-paper” Jim Zug last weekend to win the Price Cup 6/4 3/6 6/5. Perhaps we can appeal to Mr. Zug’s loquacious side and get him to submit an eyewitness account?!?
Thank you very much for the Price Family for hosting this wonderful tournament!

Barbara and Wes,
Thanks to you for sponsoring this wonderful event! The trophy looks great, right up-to-date.The Sunday brunch was THE best! Look forward to 2011!
Sounds like a fantastic match! So sorry I couldn’t be there1 Congrats to the Price family, Steve and Jim.
I, too, am eager for Jim to engage his loquacious side to describe the battle. Lacking that, here’s my version of events: Jim was the actual underdog when trailing 0-5 in the first set. He became slight underdog when he lost the first set 4-6. He became “underdog on paper” when he smacked me 6-3 in the second set and started strong in the third. He became lead dog (“big dog”?)when he went ahead 40-love at 5/5 in the third set. He became unlucky dog after the next four points magically went my way. It was a dog-gone close match. (Note: he did get a win out of the loss according to realtennisonline, so there is a silver lining for Jim even if no silver cup)
